Cook Islands Language Week

Sunday 30th July to Saturday 5th August is Cook Islands Language Week, a cultural celebration of everything from the region

The MIT Pasifika Community Centre will be hosting a week of celebrations, with free activities starting at 10am every day where you can enjoy workshops focussed around Cook Island Arts and Crafts.

If you can get into the city, Auckland Museum will be hosting daily performances plus a display of Cook Islands treasures. In Glen Innes, the East Cook Islands Community Culture Group are offering a week of celebrations at Te Oro in exchange for a koha. Daily cultural performances, speakers, arts and crafts and a light supper will be on offer, but you must book in advance.
