Are you a Supervisor seeking a fresh opportunity in Auckland? 

At FSM, we have a rare opening in our Supervisors team and are seeking a new member to join our whānau. This is a unique opportunity to offer clinical leadership for a small Family Start team based in South Auckland & Franklin.

 

About Our Charity:

Family Success Matters, formerly known as Family Start Manukau, was established in 2005 as a not-for-profit, non-government organisation. We are focused on providing the Ministry of Social Development’s Family Start programme. The trust was formed by Te Kupenga o Hoturoa PHO, TaPasefika Health Trust PHO, and the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society.

Nearly 20 years since our inception, we now manage one of New Zealand's largest Family Start contracts and employ 50 staff.

 

About the Role:

The Supervisor role is designed to provide clinical leadership to a team of Family Start Social Workers. You will assist the Operations Manager, Child Safety Lead and Practice Development Lead in creating a safe, supportive, and efficient work environment. Your natural focus is around safety, and in addition to providing clinical supervision, you will contribute to the professional development and learning needs /coaching of individual team members. You will be supporting the development of best social services practice and ensuring the team maintains timely and concise case notes. Additionally, you will be responsible for helping the team build and maintain networks & referrals, while supporting the growth of local contacts and services that will strengthen the needs of the Family Start programme.

Skills and Attributes:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work Supervision.

  • At least three years’ experience in service delivery.

  • Cultural ability and experience working with vulnerable Māori and Pacifica communities.

  • Depth of knowledge and skill around practice discipline.

  • Willingness and ability to undertake further and ongoing training.

  • Current full driver’s licence.

  • SWRB Registration.

  • Strong commitment to learning bicultural practice.

  • Ability to engage effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of your work.

  • A natural safety focus for your team members and the vulnerable clients we serve.

Preferred:

  • Previous supervision experience preferred.

  • Experience in collaborative bicultural practice.
