Great for after-school munchies!

Ingredients
4 slices of white bread
2 tbsp tomato puree – you can also use ketchup
2 mild biersticks, sliced
100g cheddar, grated
1 tsp mixed herbs
salt and pepper to taste
Method
Pre-heat the grill to 180
Using an extra large cookie cutter or similar, cut each slice of bread into a circle. Place under the grill until toasted on one side, then remove.
Mix the tomato puree with the herbs and add salt and pepper to taste. Spread thinly over the untoasted side of each bread circle.
Lay the sliced biersticks evenly across each circle of bread then sprinkle with cheese. Place under the grill until the cheese is melted. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Top tip: add other ingredients like olives, tinned sweetcorn or chopped tomatoes – get the kids to do it themselves!
